A town near Troy.
During the Trojan War, Agamemnon, commander-in-chief of the Achaian (Achaean) army, insulted and threatened Apollon's priest, Chryses. Begging for justice, Chryses prayed to Apollon, lord of Chryse, Killa (Cilla), and Tenedos.
The Achaians were able to sustain their prolonged siege of Troy by pillaging nearby cities and islands for supplies and slaves. On one such foray, Achilles sacked the town of Tenedos and abducted Hekamede (Hecamede), daughter of Arsinoos (Arsinous).
