A large island in the southeastern Aigean Sea.
During the Trojan War the Achaian soldiers from Rhodes were commanded by Tlepolemos, a son of Herakles. Nine ships sailed to Troy with Tlepolemos, which would have carried approximately 1,035 men.
The Rhodians were divided into three divisions corresponding to the cities of Ielysos, Lindos, and Kameiros.
