During the Trojan War, Menelaos, co-commander of the Achaian (Achaean) army, mustered soldiers from the Lakedaimon (Lacedaimon)1 cities of Pharis, Amyklai (Amyclae), Augeiai (Augeiae), Bryseiai (Bryseiae), Helos, Laas, Messe, Oitylos (Oetylus), and Sparta.
