During the Trojan War, the Achaians (Achaeans) from Magnesia were under the command of Prothoos (Prothous).
Prothoos, son of Tenthredon, led the Magnetes from Mount Pelion and the vicinity of the Peneios (Peneius) River. Prothoos sailed to Troy with forty ships, which would have carried approximately 4,600 men.
