An island in the southern Aigean (Aegean) Sea.
Leros is part of a group of Aigean islands called the Sporades, meaning "scattered." Leros and the neighboring island of Kalymna (Kalymnos) are referred to as the Kalydnai (Calydnian Isles).
During the Trojan War, Pheidippos (Pheidippus) and Antiphos (Antiphus) commanded the Achaian (Achaean) troops from Kasos (Casus), Krapathos (Crapathos), Nisyros (Nisyrus), the city of Kos (Cos), and the Kalydnai.
