Agamemnon, commander-in-chief of the Achaian army at Troy, mustered troops from throughout the Aigialos,1 including the cities of Gonoessa, Aigion, Araithyrea, Helike, Hyperesia, Kleonai, Korinth, Mykenai, Orneiai, Pellene, and Sikyon.
Gonoessa was referred to as steep and perched on hills.
