Adriatic Sea

An extension of the Mediterranean Sea separating Italy and the Balkan Peninsula.

The Adriatic Sea is approximately 500 miles (805 kilometers) long and up to 140 miles (225 kilometers) wide. Called the Adrias by the ancient Greeks.
