Acarnania is a region of west-central Greece
Acarnania lies along the Ionian Sea, west of Aitolia, with the Acheloios (Achelous) River for a boundary, and north of the gulf of Kalydon (Calydon), which is the entrance to the Gulf of Korinth (Corinth).
