| On the way to Delphi from Athens, we passed the home of the Muses, Mount Helikon. Our tour bus stopped for lunch and I walked to the end of the parking lot to get a better look at the mysterious blue mountain in the distance ... a local man walked up to me and said simply, “Helikon” ... I immediately understood that I was looking at the famed mountain where the poet Hesiod so eloquently described his encounter with the Muses 2,700 years ago |
