| This is the famous Mask of Agamemnon which was discovered by Heinrich Schliemann in one of the grave-shafts at the fortress of Mycenae circa 1870 CE ... it is now believed that this gold mask predates Agamemnon and that Mr. Schliemann was too hasty in naming the artifact. The mask can now be seen at the Archaeological Museum of Athens. |
