I think that this Kore is one of the most remarkable statues in the Acropolis Museum . . . she has a look of graceful sadness but the delicate texture of her dress indicate that she was from a family of some wealth or influence . . . it can be assumed that this statue was dedicated to one of the temples on the Acropolis to beseech the good graces of the goddess, Athene.
