| This is a view of the central square above the Syntagma metro station. There are shaded benches, people passing out pamphlets, tourists and commuters mingling on this square. The overall feeling is one of busy people with a purpose but without the hustle and bustle that you might expect ... I personally tried to use the subway during the non rush-hours and really had no trouble getting around. This is, more or less, the center of the city ... from here you can get to any point in Athens without much trouble. The subway station is quite large but easy to navigate. (Mid-September 2006) |
