Okay ... let me say right up front that King Xerxes did not use FedEx ... his government was not federalized so he had to use his own private mail service ... I’ll bet he didn’t get much junk mail either ... that’s one benefit of being a king that we could all enjoy.
There was one Persian who suggested that the Great King federalize the mail service but history did not record his name ... he was buried in an unmarked grave ... those kings didn’t really encourage private enterprise ... if you happened to have a profitable idea back then, the Great King would simply steal it, call it his idea and put the profits in his treasury ... after all ... it was his empire and he could do pretty much as he pleased ... that last statement is not intended as a criticism of modern politicians ... we all know that they are public servants and have to do what we say ... when we say lower taxes, they take an ax to the budget and cut their own salaries ... when we say that we want more freedom, they cut their machinegun expenditures to the bare bones ... when we say that we need a national health care program, they send us coupons for the finest fast food restaurants in the country ... when we say that we want fewer politicians, they resign their posts ... as you can easily see, life is much better now than it was under some so called Great King.
