Well ... here we go again with the serious stuff ... but seriously, this is the wrong answer and I’ll tell you why...
Alpha of all ... Herakles didn’t own a canoe and there were no canoe rental places in ancient Greece.
Omega of all ... I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a canoe but I have ... they are undoubtedly the most uncomfortable watercraft ever invented ... did I say invented? What I meant to say was that canoes are the most uncomfortable watercraft ever inflicted on the human population of this earth!
On my last vacation, I paddled down the Suwannee River from the springs in south George to the Gulf of Mexico ... not only did I have to deal with the poisonous bugs, spiders and slimy reptiles, everything in the canoe either got wet or was washed overboard ... my knees ached ... my back ached ... I was hungry for dry food ... I wanted to put on dry cloths ... the darn thing capsized ten thousand times (which is only a slight exaggeration) ... trust me ... flailing around in the water trying to save your possessions while avoiding water moccasins is not a fun way to spend your vacation ... when it was all over, I was so sick of canoes and all canoe related activities that I swore a solemn oath that I would never get in a canoe again.
Actually ... I only included this answer so I would have a chance to rant against canoes ... I feel a lot better now ... thank you for indulging me.
