Greek Mythology: From The Iliad To The Fall Of The Last Tyrant

Fun Fact Quiz 4

Nope ... a Gatos is not a Catharus guttatus

I do however commend you for an excellent guess ... the “cat” of Catharus was kinda close ... by that I mean that if your teacher asked you to name one of the seven seas and you said “Loch Ness” ... you would be kinda close because it is a body of water ... not really a sea but, you know ... kinda close.

Speaking of Loch Ness ... on my last visit to my ancestral homeland, I actually saw a GATOS on the shore of Loch Ness! I snapped a few pictures but they were a little out of focus and the GATOS looked like a blurry smudge ... when I showed the pictures to my friends they politely pointed out the fact that I have a tendency to stretch the truth but I’m sure that they were just jealous.

A Catharus guttatus is a Hermit Thrush ... olive brown with a distinctive white eye-ring and a white breast ... its song has been compared to the sound of a flute. Now if I had told my friends that I had seen a Catharus guttatus at Loch Ness, they would have believed me ... how do you explain that?

If you’re lucky enough to spot a GATOS at Loch Ness, just keep it to yourself and don’t tell any of your so called “friends.”

Okay, put your binoculars and low-res camera away ... get back to the Quiz.
