Greek Mythology: From The Iliad To The Fall Of The Last Tyrant

Fun Fact Quiz 4

Here kitty, kitty ...

GATOS is Greek for tomcat. The ancient Greeks did not have cats as household pets until after Alexander the Great conquered Egypt and brought the lovable pets back to Greece about 325 BCE. Before the Greeks domesticated cats, polecats were common pets ... polecat is another name for a ferret.

It must be some sort of genetic disorder that makes people want to have furry, feisty quadrupeds running around their houses ripping up the curtains and fouling their footwear ... I’ve heard it rightly said that there are essentially two types of people in the world ... those who love cats and those who hate them ... another way to put it might be, some people have genetic disorders and some people don’t.

Okay ... enough catting around, get back to the Quiz.
